What times are your services and discipleship groups?
we offer 2 services each sunday at 9:00 & 10:30 a.m.
The first service is "blended" in format, offering a mixture of hymns and newer songs for worship. The second service reflects more of a modern worship format, emphasizing a contemporary-styled atmosphere and music . We have Discipleship Groups (traditionally called Sunday School) that meet simultaneously with our service hours. We also have discipleship groups that meet in homes on Sunday evenings or other nights of the week, should that be your preference. We would love to have you visit our service and give us the opportunity to get you connected to a small group that meets your needs.
We also have Wednesday night services, Bible studies, and activities for everyone.
Where are you located?
You can find us in the heart of Warner Robins at 615 Corder Road, between Watson Blvd and Russell Pkwy. You can see a map and get driving directions by clicking here.
What do you believe? What is your mission?
Although "church" has changed in a lot of ways since we opened our doors in 1963, we believe our mission as a church remains the same. We would say our mission is simply to "love God, love each other, and love our community as fully committed followers of Jesus Christ."
That mission flows directly out of our beliefs. SHBC is a Southern Baptist Church, and our beliefs are consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message.
What activities do you have for children and students?
At Shirley Hills, we desire to minister to children of all ages, partnering with parents to lead them to faith in Christ. We have activities for children and students that run simultaneously with all our regular service times, and we have incredible special events throughout the year that are fun-filled, engaging, and spiritually meaningful. You can read about our preschool ministry here, our children's ministry here, and our iMPRINT student ministries here.
Where should I park? Do you have a campus map?
We have plenty of parking all around our property including designated guest spaces near our worship center that allows for easy access to our buildings. Whatever your needs, whether proximity to children's ministry areas or handicap access, our members will gladly assist you in any way they can.
What should I wear?
We encourage our members and guests to wear whatever makes them comfortable to fully worship Christ, knowing that "man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart." We do believe, however, that modesty is a Biblical value, and we desire not to distract or draw attention to ourselves since worship is about God alone. At SHBC, you will see us in everything from suits to t-shirts and shorts, and you are welcome as you are.
What type of music do you have in your worship services?
As explained above, we have a broad mix of hymns and contemporary worship songs. Our music in both services is provided by a worship band consisting of piano, guitars, and drums. We have a worship choir that helps lead our congregation each week, often providing special music as well. We love and embrace songs old and new, for they are all part of our heritage of faith and identity as people of God.
How long are your worship services?
Typically, our services last about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
What version of the Bible do you use?
Our pastor, Jacob Green, currently teaches from the CSB (Christian Standard Bible) , but we welcome you to use any translation that remains true to God's Word.
Can I watch or listen to your services online?
We do offer live-streaming of our 10:30am worship service on Sundays. You can find this by clicking the “livestream” tab on our website menu.
Video and audio of each Sunday’s message is available as well if you cannot watch during the times of the services. These are available as message media under the “resources” tab on our website menu.
How can I contact you?
We hope to answer most of your questions here on this site, but would love to hear from you if you have other questions or we can minister to you in some way.
